Product information
Made slowly. Kept simply.
Edge grain
Long strips of wood glued side by side. Lighter and thinner, very stable, and perfect for everyday slicing and serving.
End grain
Short blocks glued with the growth rings facing up. The knife slips between the wood fibres, so the board heals itself and your knives stay sharp longer.
Woods
Oak is dense and durable. Birch is pale and smooth. Walnut is dark and rich, and it deepens with age. Every board is finished with food-safe oil.
Engraving
Each engraving is done by hand. Please allow a few extra days, and check your spelling carefully before you order.
Care tips
- 01
Wash by hand
Use warm water and a little mild soap, then rinse. Never put the board in the dishwasher or leave it soaking.
- 02
Dry upright
Wipe it dry and stand it on its edge, or in a board stand, so both sides get air.
- 03
Oil monthly
Rub in a generous layer of board oil, leave it overnight, then wipe off the excess. Oil more often if the wood looks pale or dry.
- 04
Seal with butter
After oiling, a thin layer of board butter seals the surface and leaves a soft, silky finish.
- 05
Refresh naturally
To lift odours and stains, scrub with coarse salt and half a lemon, then rinse and dry.
- 06
Keep from heat
Keep the board away from radiators, ovens and direct sun to prevent warping and cracks.
